Things You Need to Know

Dental Assisting:  Dental assistants help the dentist at chairside and also perform functions such as polishing teeth, taking X-rays, mixing materials and sterilizing instruments. Some assistants also manage the office and patient accounts, schedule appointments and purchase supplies.

Time: Classes run from 8am to 5pm on Saturdays. You need to attend all classes.

Tuition: $3995
Early sign up discount of $500 is available. Call today for details.

Books: All books are included

Supplies: All supplies included

Instructors: The course is directed by currently practicing doctors. Other instructors are experienced dental assistants who have had thousands of hours and years of experience.

Hands-on experience: Because dental assisting is a “hands on” work environment; course work is designed to focus on developing those skills.  You will be working on models and manikins that lie in the dental chair just like patients.  You will be taking x-rays on a skull that will show you just like on a live patient if you have taken the x-rays correctly.

Certification:  Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate to show your training.  In order to practice as a dental assistant in Iowa, you must fulfill all of the requirements for registration as a dental assistant set by the Iowa Dental Board.  You will need to work as least 6 months as a dental assistant trainee for a licensed dentist and pass 3 tests given by Iowa Dental Board to become a registered dental assistant in the State of Iowa.
